Job Description
You will be involved with full spectrum of ages and abilities, Mini-Tennis, Juniors and Adults.
Complete range of large & small groups, private lessons and training match sessions
Always working alongside Hubert or other English-speaking colleague
You will have freedom to explore different avenues of work in our business operations and externally, maybe develop your own classes/clients and/or involve yourself in our product-focussed operations.
Full-time position 35-40 hours per week, two days off mid-week (the days will vary)
One third of total hours office based. Weekend coaching hours typically 08:00-10:00 and 16:00-20:00 for both days
Holiday: 3 days over Christmas, 15 days over Chinese New Year
Overview of Venue
We operate primarily in the Nanshan district in Shenzhen, China. We run a huge variety of coaching and knock-around sessions in the region; these are primarily local Chinese schools (Primary & Secondary), introductory sessions for children in conjunction with our partnership with Decathlon China, private sessions for our partner membership club Shenzhen Returnee's Tennis Club (Chinese students who have studied/worked abroad and returned to China, overall a good level of English). There are over 385 members in this tennis club.
Our current coaching team consists of 6 international full-time staff, but we are urgently looking to expand this number in order to match our demand. Our office HQ is in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Chanxueyan Building in Shenzhen. We hire external facilities that are all of a high standard. One of these being the Shenzhen University Town Sports Centre which has 10 outdoor hard-courts, a football stadium, Olympic sized swimming pool and more. Another being Bao'an District Sport Center Stadium which has 6 mini tennis courts, 6 hard-courts and 3 indoor tennis courts.
We are also very active in the tennis product market, selling mostly to these schools, members and individuals whilst constantly exploring new areas of product innovation as well.
We are also assembling a brand new state of the art multi-sport area & gymnasium on the top floor of a very popular shopping mall in Shenzhen, completion expected within the next year.
Person Specification
Must have a University degree for Visa reasons.

Must pass a DBS check
English at Native level
Comfortable with coaching players of all ages and abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, professional and willing to help wherever possible
Previous coaching experience and strong playing standard
Prepared to work weekends
Willing to work hard in and learn about all areas of our tennis programme
Awareness of standards within Mini-Tennis and Junior programmes
Awareness of standards within Cardio-Tennis programmes for the adults and Juniors
There is no need to worry about the language barrier, Chinese people are very welcoming and will appreciate the British/Western culture that your presence brings. Many of our members are very competent English speakers and will enjoy being able to speak English with you. Our international staff will be on hand to translate whenever dialogue is in Mandarin/Chinese.
