Job Description
The Council have an exciting opportunity for a Coach to provide a fully inclusive community Summer Tennis programme on-site, comprising of Mini-tennis (red, orange, green), yellow ball junior tennis and adult activities, with the possibility of a long term agreement.
2 courts for programme delivery with reduced court hire fees. The successful candidate will be charged a reduced court rate for courts used to deliver their programme. Please note there will be restrictions on court usage e.g. courts available for public hire, however this will not impact a full programme.
Coach will have access to toilets attached to the pavilion that is located next to the Tennis Courts with possible access to the Pavilion in the case of bad weather.
Coaching programme can be delivered solo or as a part of a team although the coaching provider must ensure that all staff used to deliver activity are appropriately qualified and accredited.
The Coach / Coaching provider would be self-employed on a clearly defined legal status e.g. limited company or sole trader, fully responsible for their own tax and national insurance.
Overview of Venue
A principal aim of Fleet Town Council is to provide and improve facilities and amenities and offer more activities for local residents. We have 6 Outdoor Tennis Courts based in Calthorpe Park, Fleet that were refurnished in August 2016.
We're looking for both youth and adult tennis coaching - mini-tennis (red, orange, green), yellow ball junior tennis and adult activities.
In 2016 we introduced a new membership scheme whereby households can play Tennis as much as they like for a year, for a small annual fee, currently set at £40/year.
Fleet Town Council will support the Coach and help with advertising both through emails to Tennis Members and through its own social media, newsletters/publications, articles in other local magazines and publicity at community events. Fleet Town Council also has links to surrounding schools, including three schools located very close to Calthorpe Park.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be/will have:
Passionate
Dedicated to delivering an inclusive community programme
Competent in IT
Full UK Driving License
Would be advantageous to also have some form of accountancy/business management qualification but not essential
